Rolled Oats
Rolled Oats are made from kilned, whole groats that are processed by steaming and flaking. Rolled oats are mostly served as a hot breakfast cereal, but are also sometimes used in cookies, breads and granolas. The oats are chewy and wholesome and provide long lasting energy.

- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups quick-cooking oats
- 1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in water and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients and add to the creamed mixture. Chill for 30 minutes. Shape into rolls and wrap tightly in wax paper. Chill for 2 hours until rolls are firm. Cut chilled rolls into = inch slices and bake at 375 degree for 12-15 until lightly browned.
