Potable Aqua Drinking Water Germicidal Tablets are designed for emergency disinfection of drinking water. When used as instructed, they render most water bacteriologically safe for consumption. They are widely used by campers, hikers, military personnel, and emergency organizations worldwide for treating water of questionable bacteriological quality. These tablets should only be used when fresh water is suspected or known to be bacteriologically unsafe and are not intended for continuous use. Note that Potable Aqua does not inactivate Cryptosporidium cysts.
P.A. PLUS tablets are used to neutralize the iodine taste and color after water has been treated with Potable Aqua.
Treats up to 25 quarts.
Directions for Use
Step 1:
Add 2 tablets of Potable Aqua to 1 quart (or liter) of water. Cap the container loosely to allow slight leakage. Wait 5 minutes, then shake the container to moisten the screw threads on the closure. Tighten the cap and wait 30 minutes before drinking.
Step 2:
After treating water with Potable Aqua, wait a minimum of 30 minutes before adding P.A. PLUS neutralizing tablets. Do not add both types of tablets at the same time, as this may allow harmful bacteria to remain in the water. Add 2 P.A. PLUS tablets per quart of water, shake well, and wait 3 minutes before drinking. P.A. PLUS tablets do not need to be completely dissolved to be effective.
