Ginseng Seeds

American Ginseng seeds. We will restock later in 2024 for fall planting.

Ginseng does best in well-drained soil and planted on a slight slope for best drainage. Add compost or leaf mulch during planting for protection. Plant seed approximately one-half inch deep. Space seeds one to six inches apart, in rows six to nine inches apart. Never allow the seeds to dry out, keep them cool and damp but not wet.

Ginseng seeds require two cold periods of below 45 degrees over ninety days long before they will sprout. These seeds have had their first cold period (last winter) and by planting now they will get their second cold period this winter and will sprout in the spring.
